The 85-year-old singer, songwriter, and comedian — best known for hits like “The Streak,” “Gitarzan,” and “Everything Is Beautiful” — is now recovering, and his team has confirmed that all of his July performances have been canceled to allow him time to heal.
In an official statement, Stevens’ representatives shared:
“Ray experienced a medical emergency on Friday evening and was immediately taken to the hospital. He underwent surgery on Saturday, which was successful. He is now resting comfortably and surrounded by loved ones.”
While the news came as a shock to many, fans were relieved to hear that the surgery went well and that Stevens is stable. His family is asking for privacy during this time, but said Ray is grateful for the continued prayers and support from his fans.
